UIWTV is dedicated to providing a hands-on experience for UIW students as well as communication, business, and leadership skills. We welcome any UIW student that is dedicated and willing to learn. We are gearing up and getting ready for our third season beginning this Fall 2010.

UIWTV began in the spring semester of 2009 at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas when several students enrolled in a Television Practicum course. Students at the Communication Arts Department, in the School of  Media & Design, run the UIWTV station.

UIWTV consists of students enrolled in a course and student volunteers. UIWTV focus on all aspects of a real life television studio: management, production, on-air talent, promotions, advertising, engineering and web design.

Students can practice their skills in three different areas: news, sports and entertainment. Students will engage in the learning process of the media world. Live sports productions occur for all university home football, basketball and other selected sports games. Other live productions include university sponsored events like ‘Light the Way’ and graduations.

UIWTV is aligned with the mission that the University of the Incarnate Word has set for their students. We are actively seeking underwriters through donations or paid advertising.
